Jun 08, 2020

CI Assante Wealth Management has received seven nominations in six categories at the 2020 Wealth Professional Awards, which recognizes the platinum standard in Canadian wealth management. The awards ceremony will be held on September 30, 2020, the sixth year of saluting excellence in the wealth management industry.

Assante is nominated for The Equitable Bank Award for Multi-Office Advisor Network/Brokerage of the Year, which recognizes the most outstanding advisory network or brokerage that has displayed excellence over the last 12 months.

“CI Assante Wealth Management is excited to be a finalist for this award and to have advisors nominated in five other categories, reflecting the professionalism of our advisors, the scale and continued growth of our organization and our focus on the delivery of complete financial advice to our clients,” said Sean Etherington, President of Assante.

Some of the criteria considered in this category are the industry reputation of the firm, overall client service and relationship management, along with the company’s spirit of innovation in using technology and digital tools. Assante has collaborated with advisors in deploying 21st century technology and tools that are both effective and easy to use.

Tina Tehranchian is a finalist for two awards – The Mandeville Private Client Inc. Award for Canadian Advisor of the Year and The Mackenzie Investments Award for Female Trailblazer of the Year. “The finalists in both categories are outstanding advisors who exemplify excellence, talent and dedication to their profession, and being among these professionals is a great reward in and of itself,” Tina said. “The fact that two of the finalists for the Canadian Advisor of the Year award are Assante advisors further speaks to the high standards and service quality at our company for delivering advice and service that exceeds our clients’ expectations.”

Rob McClelland, Vice President and Branch Owner of The McClelland Financial Group at Assante Capital Management Ltd. is also nominated for the prestigious Mandeville Private Client Inc. Award for Canadian Advisor of the Year along with three other team awards: The Franklin Templeton Award for Advisory Team of the Year (10 Staff or More), The SIACharts Inc. Award for Digital Innovator of the Year and The Advocis Award for Young Gun of the Year.

“There are so many excellent and dedicated financial advisors across the country that I feel privileged to be recognized. Each day, we work hard to simplify and improve the financial lives of our clients,” Rob said. “During this year’s pandemic, the thing I’m most proud of has been our commitment to harnessing technology not only in our office but also for the benefit of our clients. When the crisis hit, within a 12-hour period we fully transitioned our entire team of 14 from working in the office to working from home.”

Referring to his team’s Digital Innovator of the Year nod, he added, “I’m grateful to be acknowledged as one of the leaders in this country in the area of technology; it makes me want to push further down that road.”

The Advocis Award for Young Gun of the Year finalist John Iaconetti, said, “Each year I strive to provide excellent advice and service to my clients. This award not only provides validation of the work I have put into my career, but also provides the motivation to become the best advisor I can be for my clients.”

Assante extends a warm congratulations to all the hard-working and deserving nominees. More information about this year’s Wealth Professional Awards, and a complete list of finalists, can be found on their website.
