Drummond Brodeur, MBA, CFA
Drummond Brodeur has been in the investment industry since 1989 and joined CI Global Asset Management in 2007. He has a strong background focused on China and the Pacific Basin. Prior to joining CI, Drummond’s experience included overseeing international portfolios at KBSH Capital Management, being a senior analyst with Caisse de Depot, and being a Portfolio Manager at Bankers Trust Australia. Drummond holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario and two Master’s degrees from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
James Dutkiewicz, CFA
James joined CI Global Asset Management in 2012 and is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience analyzing and managing bonds. James continues to lead the fixed-income components of many of CI’s key mandates, while providing leadership on the asset allocation strategy and oversight to the investment team. James graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Allan Maclean-Howard, CPA
Allan Maclean-Howard, CPA, Vice-President and Portfolio Manager, Asset Allocation, Risk Management and Derivatives began his career in the investment industry in 1987. He oversees CI Global Asset Management’s asset allocation and risk management processes. Mr. Maclean-Howard joined Signature from Merrill Lynch, where he was responsible for Merrill’s institutional equity derivatives business for Canadian clients. Mr. Maclean-Howard has a deep background in macro and asset allocation with long term global cross asset market experience, along with extensive experience in the trading, structuring, and risk management of equity, commodity, and fixed income derivatives. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Maclean-Howard held senior investment positions at UBS Canada, RBC Capital Markets, TD Bank and earned his CA at Clarkson Gordon. Mr. Maclean-Howard holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen's University.
John Hadwen, CFA
John joined the investment industry in 1993 and joined CI Global Asset Management in 2007. He is responsible for stock selection in the financial services sector. He began his career in customer service at Mackenzie Financial before moving to mutual fund accounting and money market trading and administration. He joined Infinity Investment Counsel in 1998 as a research analyst. Infinity was acquired by Goodman & Company, where his responsibilities expanded to include portfolio management. In 2006, he joined KBSH Capital Management before joining CI the following year. John holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in administrative studies from Trent University and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Jack Hall, CFA
Jack joined Sentry in 2012 and has more than 5 years of experience in the financial services industry. Jack is a member of the North American equity income team and he is the co-manager of CI U.S. Equity Income Fund, CI U.S. Equity & Income Fund, CI Canadian Small/Mid Cap Equity Income Fund, CI American Equity Fund and CI American Equity Corporate Class. He is also a manager on the Sentry portions of CI American Managers Corporate Class, and Select U.S. Equity Managed Corporate Class, and continues to be responsible for research and analysis of North American dividend- and income-paying equity securities. Jack graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Aubrey Hearn, CFA
Aubrey joined CI Global Asset Management in 2005 and has more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry. Aubrey has a keen understanding of business dynamics, a dedication to internal research and a strong focus on investing in high-quality, dividend-paying companies. In 2015, he was named Investment Executive’s Mutual Fund Manager of the Year*, which recognizes exceptional and consistent fund outperformance over 10 years. Aubrey graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Memorial University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
*Investment Executive (“IE”) selects the Mutual Fund Manager of the Year by ranking all funds with a 10-year performance record in a point-based scoring system. The funds are ranked based on annual returns, IE relative outperformance and quartile performance. Other criteria factored into the methodology include cumulative 10-year returns, management expense rations and correlation to the fund’s benchmark index.
Paul Marcogliese, CFA
Paul is responsible for managing and co-managing a number of our fixed income funds. His career in the investment industry began in 1999 and he joined CI Global Asset Management in 2016. Prior to this, Paul worked as a Portfolio Manager at MFS Investment Management Canada managing Canadian and international fixed-income portfolios. Prior to that, he was a Partner and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at McLean Budden Asset Management. Paul holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Geof Marshall, CFA
Geof Marshall, SVP, Head of Fixed Income & Lead – Private Markets, joined CI GAM in 2006 and leads the fixed income team and private markets group. Geof is also the lead manager on CI GAM’s income strategies and co-manages the private markets and income & growth funds as well as a number of multi-asset fixed income portfolios. He brings over 25 years of valued industry experience to his role at CI GAM, especially in asset allocation and analyzing, managing, and trading corporate bonds, leveraged loans, and private credit. Prior to CI GAM, Geof was a portfolio manager at Manulife Financial. Geof is a CFA charterholder with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario. He is also a member of the CFA Society Toronto and chairs the Investment Committee at the Royal Ontario Museum where he also serves on the Board of Governors.
Kevin McSweeney, MBA, CFA
Kevin has 12 years of financial services and investment management experience and is a member of the team responsible for infrastructure and REITs. He moved to this team from the high-yield, convertible bond and leveraged loan assets team in 2016. Prior to joining CI Global Asset Management, Kevin worked for six years with Scotiabank, most recently in corporate credit risk management. Prior to that, he worked with Finance Canada as a financial economist in the international trade and financial markets divisions. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from St. Mary's University a Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University, and the Chartered Financial Analyst(CFA) designation.
Danesh Rohinton
Danesh joined CI Global Asset Management in 2013 and began his career in the investment industry in 2012. Prior to joining CI, Danesh worked at BMO Capital Markets in New York as a research associate covering U.S. banks. He also has prior experience as a Research Analyst at Sentry Investment Management. Danesh holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
John Shaw, CFA
John started in the investment industry in 1990. He has experience in international credit analysis, trading and portfolio management. John’s responsibilities are focused on corporate bonds and preferred shares. Prior to joining CI Global Asset Management in 2004, he worked at Canada Life Assurance for 13 years, most recently as a US corporate bond trader. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Queen’s University and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Robert Swanson, MBA, CFA
Robert joined CI Global Asset Management in 2011 and began his career in the investment industry in 1983. He is the co-manager on many CI Funds and manages Canadian equity strategies for institutional clients as well. Prior to joining CI, Robert was lead manager of several mutual funds at Fidelity Investments with combined assets under management exceeding $20 billion. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northern Illinois University, an MBA from Northwestern University and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Robert is associated with CI Global Investments Inc., a firm registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and an affiliate of CI Global Asset Management.
